Naomi Sayers

Naomi gets your week off to a bright start with Good Morning Chelmsford on Mondays- and keeps you cosy with The Book Club – the monthly book show on Thursday nights. As a child, Naomi used to record the chart show on Radio 1 (shhhh, don’t tell anyone) and practice presenting links. It was this and her love for reading out loud that led her to join the student radio station while at Cambridge University – working as Assistant Head of Music and presenting three weekly shows in her final year (yes, she probably should have been spending less time on the radio and more time studying – shhh again!)

Her love of radio and telling stories led her to become a trained Broadcast Journalist – working freelance at stations around the country, covering such glamorous stories as a foot and mouth outbreak in Aberdeen and a rally to protest against the potential closure of the local hospital in Chichester, at which Rolling Stones guitarist and frequent hospital visitor Keith Richards turned up and gave an amazing speech! No two days were the same!

Sadly corporate life beckoned and she began working in Internal Communications – the closest thing you can get to being a journalist but inside a business. In the meantime she moved to Essex and has now come back to her first love – radio.

When not on air you can find her running, strength training and doing yoga. She loves being outdoors and exploring new places – usually with her trusty, mad standard poodle – Peach. Naomi is an avid reader, plays the drums and loves her music too – particularly french house and anything 90s! Her biggest musical obsession, though, is the Beatles.
