Michelle Durant shows
Michelle is our Community Outreach and Fundraising Support Officer. She truly believes in using Radio for Good alongside our station values of inclusion and kindness.
She is incredibly proud of our CCR family and is always looking for ways to reach out into the community. Do get in touch with Michelle (via our contact page) if you would like more information on any of our services and facilities or if you are interested in working with our amazing team or even helping with a project. Be it promoting your Chelmsford community group, activity, event or setting up a new one which may help towards bringing in much needed funds to help keep our station on air.
Michelle uses her many years of experience to run fun and engaging workshops which help both individuals and groups to learn more about making radio content worth sharing with Chelmsford and beyond. Her passion for teaching radio stems from running Award Winning School Radio Clubs and she now holds a level 5 Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. She is also a trained Arts Award Assessor to oversee the delivery of Discover and Explore Awards.
Michelle is able to come and deliver a talk to your organisation about Community Radio in Chelmsford and also able to engage with local businesses who want to support the station by taking up a radio advertising package.
As part of the training and outreach work Michelle creates all sorts of audio content from interviews, podcasts, adverts and even award winning pantomimes – Oh yes she does!! In fact the 2022 Pantomime Frankenstein (written by Jared Bates and Michelle) achieved Gold in the 2023 Community Radio Arts and Creative Radio Category!
In 2021, Michelle was awarded a National Anti Violence Award for her support in promoting the visit of the Knife Angel Monument to our City. A month long visit surrounded by events and workshops organised and delivered by Keep It 100 Essex founder Luisa De Marco alongside other supporting partners.
Michelle was presented with a High Sheriff Award in April 2022 for support given to the many volunteers at Chelmsford Community Radio, in particular during the covid pandemic.
When Michelle isn’t at CCR you can find her going for long walks in the countryside, trying out a new recipe or doing crazy things like dressing up as Wonder Woman!
