Backnang young reporters
Chelmsford Community Radio are pleased to be working with young reporters in our German twin town of Backnang.
It all started with CCR broadcasting live from the “MurrSpektakel” in Backnang when the town was celebrating the founding of the city 950 years ago. First the students contributed short clips to David Whitehead’s show “Back to Backnang”. During lockdown in spring, the students took over the entire show and have been broadcasting from Chelmsford’s German twin town every Sunday at 5 p.m. featuring different issues and aspects that the students find interesting. Overall, it’s their show. Listen to what is happening in Backnang and what young people in Backnang are curious about.
Currently the project is sponsored by the Erasmus programme of the EU.

George has been with Chelmsford Community Radio since 2022 and gone from being a work experience student to having his own show. When he’s not doing radio, you can find him studying for his A-Levels or at the Gym. Catch him on Tuesday Drive at 5 with Daisy Reilley or hosting Saturday Breakfast
