The November edition of The Gene Radio Show was presented by Maxine, joined by girls from Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, and Rangers. The programme focused on Girlguiding activities and updates.
Listeners heard about various Girlguiding initiatives, including planning for a summer camp for Guides, Rangers, and Young Leaders, and an exclusive Girlguiding showing of Moana. Upcoming events mentioned were a Christmas meal and an escape room. The team highlighted unit meeting activity packs, including those for Rainbows. Badges featured included the Girlguiding Anglia heraldry badge. Young Leader training is scheduled for 24th November in the county.

The Gene Radio Show was made by Girl Guides. It belonged to Girlguiding Essex North East: Guides from across the county joined Maxine J in the studio, a rotating team of young co-hosts sharing guiding life, community stories, and conversations with politicians and celebrities. For more than a decade, the programme put guiding on the air in the Guides’ own voices.
It began on Saint FM 94.7 in Maldon, a station which has since closed, and moved to Chelmsford Community Radio in 2015. On CCR it was on air on the first Sunday of the month, from 2015 until 2 August 2026, and the archive holds 133 editions. The show has now ended.
